The superlative German techno imprint that is Cocoon will be heading to Birmingham on Saturday the 19th of December for a label showcase of epic proportions at one of the midlands shining lights in dance music and clubbing, The Rainbow Venues.
The Cocoon team will roll into the midlands to take over The Warehouse, The Blackbox and The Roof Terrace at The Rainbow Venues to presents a selection of artists from the Cocoon roster, headed up by the big boss man himself, Sven Väth.
Sven Väth is known for his marathon DJ sets at the many Cocoon parties (and after parties) that take place worldwide throughout the year. Aside from their world famous residency at Amnesia on Monday nights, which has just come off the back of another great season, Cocoon infects a number of international towns regularly as the vibe brought by Sven and the other DJs Cocoon employs is always ecstatic.
This edition taking place in Birmingham will also welcome local favourite Subb-an, a mainstay on Adam Shelton’s One Records and whose new EP on 20/20 Vision is being played by numerous DJs up and down the country. Tim Green is the next guest joining the charge, one whose EPs on Cocoon have been some of the standout releases from the label over the past couple of years. Finally we have Markus Fix, the German who has been frequenting the countries best clubs since the onset of the new millennium. This individual is heavily inspired by many of Germany’s greatest creative minds when it comes to dance music. Think Kraftwerk, Perlon, Sven, DJ Dag and Frank Lorber, all flurrying together in his energetic music.
With three rooms being utilised at The Rainbow Venues for this Cocoon party on December 19th, this is looking to be one of the standout events of the winter for house and techno fans in the city of Birmingham.
