System and Set One Twenty first joined forces in 2014 on 4th of May, which saw Seth Troxler, Detroit Swindle and Ten Walls performing stellar sets at Mint Warehouse. The second May bank holiday of 2014 sees a tremendous selection of DJs and live acts coming over to spread over the clubs 3 rooms and fully decked terrace that will all once again be rocking from the afternoon until the early hours of Monday morning.
Headlining proceedings on the terrace will be none other than This And That label owner Davide Squillace. The Italian DJ is most known for his residency at DC-10 Ibiza’s Monday afternoon after hours Circo Loco, however more recently he has been working as a third of the new musical trio ‘Better Lost Than Stupid’, which is the joining of Davide and fellow DJs Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Buttrich. Squillace has decimated dance floors in every corner of the globe with his tribal tinged sound and there is no doubt that he will be doing some serious damage on the terrace at Mint Warehouse. Joining Davide Squillace will be Subb-an, who today is one of the most celebrated British producers and will to our delight be treating us to his live show on May 25th. As well as having releases on some of house music’s strongest labels like One Records and Crosstown Rebels, Subb-an (with friends Adam Shelton and Lee McDonald) is also a co-founder of renowned British underground dance institution Below, the event founded in Birmingham that is also well known for it’s inimitable bank holiday parties. To complete the terrace’s impressive line-up, the talents of Jack Wickham have also been recruited, as well as the Set One Twenty residents.
Inside in the main room, the trend of big bookings continues as another staple DC-10 resident has been enlisted in the form of Dyed Soundorom. As one third of the French house trio Apollonia and DJing solo, Dyed has visited Mint Club many times, consistently putting on some of the best performances the club has seen, including his worldly display at one of System’s terrace parties last year (pictured below).
Dyed will also be accompanied by the expertise of Berlin based Mathew Jonson, who’s live shows and unique releases on labels like Cocoon and Crosstown Rebels have set him apart from many other producers and performers. With a style like no other that incorporates a vast and sometimes crazy array of sounds he has crafted a pleather of great tracks and EP’s, making his appearance at Mint Warehouse this bank holiday weekend one we are anticipating greatly. Also in the main room will be System residents Annie Errez and Bobby O’Donnell, without whom the line-up would not be complete.
To make the prospect of this party even more exciting, The Loft and The Boiler Room will also be awash with flair as Rinse FM DJ Oneman, young house music prodigies Leon Vynehall and the ever classy Medlar, Pool Tax and the Wolf DJ’s will also be joining the already exceptional bill across the final two rooms, making this bank holiday party one of the biggest the city has seen, and certainly not one you should think about missing.
