Tender Hooks is the London based promotion and record label who will be setting up shop in Leeds on Saturday the 16th of May for a special party featuring two of the hottest rising stars in dance music, with one of Tender Hooks very own residents thrown in for good measure.
The first guest to be appearing at Wire on May 16th is the New Yorker Anthony Naples, who left the Big Apple to move to Berlin during the onset of his career. His debut album ‘Body Pill’ was a short but emphatic journey through Anthony’s work as a music producer, with dance floor heavies moulded amongst beat less soundscapes and short experimental bursts of creativeness. Having remixed the likes of Four Tet, Special Request and Eric Copeland for labels such as DFA and Houndstooth, he is already well travelled musically and with a number of festival and club appearances throughout the summer at Sonar, Dekmantel, Stop Making Sense and more he is about to go even further.
Next up is San Proper, the eclectic Dutch DJ who is just as well known for mixing up afro beat and acid as he is his usual blend of house and disco. With a long line of releases on a number of hugely prominent labels such as Perlon and Rush Hour, not to mention remixes from Ricardo Villalobos and Laurent Garnier, San Proper will excite a crowd to their very bones. The final addition to the line up is Tender Hooks Resident T. Wiltshire, who regularly plays at the night and has was picked to be the third artist to release on the labels vinyl catalogue.
