The Chemical Brothers, Major Lazer, Ice Cube & more annouced for Parklife 2016

The wait is finally over. After months of speculation and rumours surrounding who will be taking to Heaton Park this June 11th-12th, Parklife Festival have released their 2016 lineup. Heading things up will be two of the worlds biggest electronic acts with The Chemical Brothers and Major Lazer set to appear across the weekend.

The Chemical Brothers will be retuning to their spiritual home of Manchester bringing along a back catalogue of over 20 years of dance floor ready hits. With one of the most spectacular live shows about, The Chemical Brothers are sure to take you on a journey with their distinctive visuals and huge selection of hits to work into their set. With tracks from their 2015 Born In The Echos to their global smash Push The Button, The Chemical Brothers will be primed and ready to bring the party to Parklife. Joining them as headliners will be Diplo’s Major Lazer. The trio have grown to become one of the most recognisable electronic acts in the world thanks to Diplo’s production and the groups energetic live performances. With three of their own full length releases at the ready including last years Peace Is The Mission and Music Is The Weapon, Major Lazer’s live show is definitely one to look out for over the weekend.

Following on from last year’s appearance from Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan, Parklife will once again be welcoming hip-hop royalty with this year set to see appearances from NWA’s Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes and De La Soul. UK drum & bass will also be well represented as Sigma will be stopping off at Heaton Park on their live tour along with Andy C and Chase & Status. Bands such as Bastille, Wolf Alice and Years & Years are set to appear across the weekend with UK grime and garage stars Craig David, Kano and Stormzy also descending on the 2-day festival.

As always Parklife will be offering up a selection of the finest DJ’ing talent with the likes of Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones  set to make another appearance at the festival. RA’s number 1 DJ for 2 consecutive years, Dixon will be behind the decks along with Klockworks label boss Ben Klock. Sound clash legend David Rodigan is also set to appear bringing his blend of dub, reggae and drum & bass to Parklife Festival.
