Hype is building for the follow up to Danny Boyle’s 1996 classic dark comedy Trainspotting, and with T2 looking likely to drop this year it’s no wonder that an apparent leak of the soundtrack has caused quite the stir. Featuring the likes of High Contrast, Young Fathers, Blondie and Queen, the playlist is also noteworthy for the inclusion of an edit of Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life”, undertaken by none other than rave kings The Prodigy.
The Prodigy had previously previewed a snippet of the remix in an instagram post, with 40 seconds of the adapted Iggy tune offering a teaser of what’s now looking likely to be one of the key fixtures in the sequel’s playlist. With dates still kept tightly guarded, we’ll just have to wait and see when the full version will be unveiled, until then making do with the video below.
The Prodigy are headlining new Croatian festival Sea Star in May, the EXIT Festival offshoot running on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th. Information on Sea Star and a special deal on EXIT Festival tickets can be found here.
