After another bumper Ibiza season, the 2013 DJ Awards (Electronic Music Awards – Ibiza) – this year celebrating it's 16th edition – again paid homage to those artists making the most significant impact on the island. Made up of 20 different awards, 11 of which are judged by an independent panel with the remaining 9 voted for by the public, everything from techno and deep house to trance and electro to media and technology are recognised.
Winners include Hot Natured (Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Ali Love, Luca C), Vagabundos boss and Booom! resident Luciano, Australian dubstep duo (and upcoming Warehouse Project guests) Knife Party and upcoming Control Leeds guest Solomun. Boiler Room TV took the Media award following on from their numerous Ibiza sessions including streams from the Hot Creations (Jamie Jones) and ENTER. (Richie Hawtin) villa parties with the new CDJs from Pioneer, CDJ2000NEXUS, took the Cutting Edge technology award.
In the Special Awards, there was a new accolade for Lifetime Achievement which saw Jerry Greenberg recognised, who at 32 became the youngest president of any major record label and continued in his career to sign artists including Nile Rodgers, Easy E and Dr Dre. View the full awards list below.
