The Social Festival has blossomed into one of the most exciting clubbing events in London since its inaugural event in 2013. For 2016, 4 stages will now occupy The Kent County Showground, with this year’s edition coming to your eyes and ears over two days on September 9th and 10th. What’s more, this year sees The Social expand its depth of musical attractions with the addition of a drum & bass arena.
The Barn will be one of the two stages bringing the noise on both Friday and Saturday, with the line up on both days bringing some of the most legendary figures in dance music to the capital. There will be favourite Social selectors including Sasha & John Digweed, curator Nic Fanciulli, Dubfire and Tom Trago appearing and there will also be some Social debuts including the legend that is Laurent Garnier, Joseph Capriati, Andrew Weatherall and Pan-Pot.
The Bamboo village is the second stage to be spread across the full two days of The Social Festival 2016, with the Friday bringing with it another flurry of high energy favourites including Loco Dice, Eats Everything and Marco Faraone. There will also be appearances from the emotive British stalwart Guy Gerber and Nastia. Bamboo Village on Saturday is where the brand new drum & bass arena will set up shop. Roni Size and Krust will be performing as Full Cycle, with High Contrast, Goldie and LTJ Bukem leading a line up of D&B legends.
As always, there will be a number of exclusive back to back performances at The Social this year, with the majority of these occurring in The Meadow, hosted by Mixmag, on the Saturday. Carl Cox will battle it out with Nic Fanciulli, Solomun will play with labelmate Adriatique and Paradise residents Richy Ahmed and Patrick Topping will also tam up.
Finally, The Stables will finish off the proceedings for 2016 with a just as impressive bill of house and techno talent. Highlights here include Robert Johnson regular Gerd Janson, Bicep, Mind Against and Phonox resident Jasper James.
