The Warehouse Project: Top 5 DJ sets


This year The Warehouse Project have announced one of their most ambitious and exciting series ever. Kicking off on Friday 23rd of September and running right through to New Year’s Day, WHP 2016 consists of a huge 40 shows spread across the city. The Warehouse Project’s spiritual home of Store Street will be where the majority of the action can be caught, however there will also be shows at The Albert Hall and Old Granada Studios. Here we have picked our top 5 DJ sets that will no doubt stand out from the rest this year.

Ricardo Villalobos & Seth Troxler Jackmaster & Numbers Present Mastermix
Saturday 5th November
Store Street

Seth Troxler and Ricardo Villalobos are two of the most anticipated guests to play during any WHP series. As two of the most sought after selectors in the world and two extremely bright characters behind the turntables, they will be unmissable when coming together for an exclusive back to back during Jackmaster’s Mastermix party on bonfire night. Expect tracks both weird and wonderful with both being fully involved in the party at Store Street, which takes place during week 7.



Jeff Mills Feel My Bicep

An undeniable lifelong legend from Detroit, Jeff Mills is part of the Underground Resistance collective, which is a concrete group of individuals within the first wave of DJs to have risen from the motor city during the genre’s inception. A truly captivating performer who brings in live elements with use of his own TR-909, Jeff Mills is the epitome of a DJ who has both kept true to his roots whilst also evolving with the genre and the technology associated with it.



DJ EZDJ EZ
Saturday 3rd December

If garage is what you’re wanting a taste of at WHP16, look no further than DJ EZ, who will be hosting his own party during week 11 of the series. Known for expert skills which he has transferred from turntables on to CDJs, DJ EZ will cut, scratch and loop his way through all-time garage classics and cutting edge tunes from the new breed that are well and truly keeping the genre alive.



Digital MystikzThe Metropolis Birthday
Friday 7th October
Store Street

Proving to provide a diverse choice of parties across the 15 weeks of action the WHP is bringing to the city this year, Metropolis will be returning on the 7th of October, bringing with it a flurry of drum & bass, dub and more. Metropolis has always been a concrete part of The Warehouse Project’s lineups and this year it’s bigger than ever. Amongst the 17 individuals appearing, Digital Mystikz will be bringing the noise in the way only they know how. Mala & Coki are pioneers of dub and their Deep Medi label has been a superlative part of the genre since its beginnings.



Above & BeyondAbove & Beyond
Friday 25th November
Store Street

On another tangent at The Warehouse Project is Above & Beyond, the trance superstars whose Anjunabeats imprint is one of the most celebrated labels in the world of euphoric, high octane beats. The trio will be playing alongside several artists from their roster and there will also be a special Anjunadeep showcase in Room 2, which means A&B will no doubt be playing one of their exciting extended sets in the main room at Store Street.
