Renowned DJ and producer Toddla T will be appearing at The Warehouse Leeds on Saturday 23rd November alongside fellow big names and friends a like in Benga and Melé.
Thomas Mackenzie Bell aka Toddla T grew up in Sheffield. He started his career aged 14 DJing in local bars and clubs. Today, he is eminent in the world of dancehall/breakbeat having released two albums and securing his own slot on BBC Radio One. This saturday sees the Steel City veteran bring his Toddla T Sound project will be a mixture of DJing and live performance featuring the soulful voice of the beautiful R&B singer Shola Ama and hip/hop reggae artist Serocee as well as MC DRS.
Also taking to the decks, Croydon dupstep producer and one third of Magnetic Man – Benga. Benga got signed to Big Apple Records as a teenager after mixing in the Big Apple Records shop in Croydon. Since then, dupstep became an established genre and Benga has proved himself to be an unquestionable talent and pioneer with his subterranean basslines and haunting instrumentation.
As well as this, unique new kid on the block – Melé – the intricate beat creator will perform with undeniable flare. On the dance-floor Melé pleases all spectrums of the crowd, playing some 90s house/techo mixing it into some UK garage and some up-to-date bass tracks. In addition, fast-rising female DJ Amy Becker will take a set. Having a unique ability to mix grime and garage with American hip-hop and trap this girl will not be someone to miss.
With such a big line-up of what only can be described as solid good music this night won’t be one to miss.
