Another month of festivals in August this summer sees The Garden Party Leeds launch their brand new concept at The Tetley, whilst in the south the likes of SW4 (London) and Shakedown (Brighton) head up the electronic music offerings. The August bank holiday sees the famed Reading & Leeds Festivals serve up their annual events, with a more holistic approach on offer at festivals including Wilderness (Oxfordshire) and the inaugural Forgotten Fields (East Sussex). Abroad, Soundwave Croatia and Creamfields Malta are among the picks - with many more festivals on home and foreign soils taking place.

The Garden Party Leeds
The Garden Party has held home at The Faversham in Leeds for 9 years, over which every bank holiday has welcomed ripe selections of DJs and live artists as they have been invited to play throughout the day and evening in what have become some of Leeds’ staple dance music and clubbing events. To celebrate a decade of parties, with guest highlights including Zip, Lindstrøm, Matthias Tanzmann, Dixon, Omar S, Dyed Soundorom and so many more over the years, The Garden Party are throwing a very special 2 day festival over August Bank Holiday Weekend in 2015. The line up amalgamates a number of all time favourite guests and exciting live music of types that have never been seen at The Garden Party before, breaking into new territory and building what is promising to be one of the standout events in Leeds this year.

South West Four
As one of the largest and most popular inner city dance festivals in London, South West Four (pictured above, as well as below) has gained a towering reputation amongst fans of electronic music of all types, as ever year a vast amount of music comes together across a number of stages in London’s Clapham Common. With the full stage breakdown for Saturday having just been released, music fans are now planning their days at the helm of one of the biggest dance line-ups that will be coming to London this summer. With stages hosted by Dream Don’t Sleep, The Gallery, DJ Mag, The Smile High Club and many more, there will music of a vast variety filling the Common with noise this August bank holiday weekend.

Soundwave is the 5-day festival held at The Garden Tisno in Croatia, where a huge selection of artists from a broad variety of genres will play throughout a luxurious holiday resort, concealed in a private cove along the Adriatic Coast. There will be sounds from far across the music spectrum, with DJ and live performances from guests fronting hip-hop, house, soul, drum & bass, dub, disco and much more. Aside from the music there will also be a large selection of art and cultural attractions, from interactive installations to excursions that visit local attractions such as national parks and even the donkey racing championships.

Wilderness Festival takes place on August 6th-9th and boasts one of the most eclectic line ups that one can see amongst all music festivals of this size in the UK. There are no commodities here as the music programme invites only the highest quality of music artists around. Also on offer are a huge number of activities that include long table banquets, theatre performances, spoken word, debates, outdoor pursuits and the Wild Wellbeing area where you can take a load off and relax in the sublime surroundings.

Forgotten Fields is the new festival project from the creative minds behind Kendal Calling, who have found another wonderfully green deer park to host three days of music from the 7-9th of August. Taking place at Eridge Deer Park in the Sussex countryside, Forgotten Fields will see a number of exciting music artists play across 5 stages alongside a number of other attractions that will include a cinema showing films like Indiana Jones, Wall-E and The Shining, a real ale festival, live art and world food stalls.

Reading & Leeds Festivals
As two of the most iconic festivals in the UK, it was the Reading and Leeds Festivals that were some of the first that pioneered the festival niche that is now spread nationwide. Beginning in 1989 at Reading, there have been an unimaginable number of world-class artists play across the many stages that have been added over the years, with an eclectic mix of music having evolved from the earlier rock focused programmes. With 7 stages now boasting headline artists there is music for everyone and that’s before you start looking at what else there is to do. Campsite DJ booths, a night time dance arena, sideshows, shopping villages, bars and more are spread across the expansive sites at Bramham Park and Richfield Avenue, meaning you will never experience a dull moment.

Taking place at Fort Punta Christo in Croatia, Dimensions boasts one of the most epic festival locations there is, with stages erected in the forts cavernous moat, in the main fort buildings and around its expanse, not to mention the 2000-year-old Roman amphitheatre, which is one of the oldest in existence. With a line up compromising cutting edge artists from the worlds of house, techno, dub, disco, D&B and more there is a vast variety of sounds to be heard in one of the most unique party spots in the world. The festival will open with a concert at The Amphitheatre and will continue with 5 days of multi arena action.

Reach Festival makes its debut this year on the 1st of August, with a hot selection of house and techno artists from Leeds and beyond set to perform. With guest DJs and residents from a number of Leeds based nights, this one-day knees up at Piked Edge Farm near Skipton promises to be a great first year.

Lytham Festival will be taking over a number of venues all over the town this August, however there are a certain number of events that standout from the many that will be taking place. At the top of this list is Faithless’ 20th Anniversary Tour at Lytham’s Proms Arena. Aside from The Proms Arena there will be shows at The Piazza, The Hewitt Lecture Rooms and The Lowther Pavilion, all boasting prominent solo artists, bands and DJs playing day and night.

Creamfields has established itself all over the world as one of the best dance music outfits there is, with their Maltese festival adding to the long line of festivals the brand now operates all over the world. This particular instalment has become the biggest dance music festival on the island and offers top quality music for all types of dance music enthusiast. This year house, techno, trance and more will be descending on the MFCC Ground on Friday the 14th August.

Brighton will be alive with music on Saturday 15th August as Shakedown Festival brings a whole host of cutting edge electronic artists from the worlds of house, drum & bass, garage and more to The Waterhall Playing Fields. Hospitality, Defected, Supercharged and Cirque Du Soul will be hosting their own stages each inviting their own selections of DJs and live artist who will be playing throughout the day and evening.

Over in Croatia things will be seriously hotting up in August as Stereoforest takes over Kalypso Club on the infamous Zrce Beach. On what is now the most famous strip of beach throughout the entire Adriatic Sea, Kalypso will be hosting some of the most upfront and in demand house music DJs from all over the globe, giving guests the chance to catch their favourite music whilst also experiencing Kalypso’s unique in house events Garden Of Art and Colors Sensation.

The Color Festival Newquay
The Colour Festival is the Holi inspired celebration that brings people together with some of the best electronic music around, to throw coloured powders in the air to provide one of the most visually stunning spectacles one can see today. Dubbed ‘The Happiest Festival In The World’, Holi-goers will dance through the day with hourly ‘Big Throws’ signalling the release of coloured powder that can be bought on site. This is a big opportunity to experience a worldwide cultural tradition whilst listening to your favourite music. The Color Festival will come to Newquay on 29th August.
