We're now well and truly into the festival season with the likes of Parklife, Field Day, Lost Village, Common People and many more behind us. We now look ahead to some of next months top festivals including the return of some longstanding festivals including Cocoon In The Park (Leeds), Lovebox (London), Wireless Festival (London), Exit Festival (Serbia) and more alongside some festival debuts for Croatia Rocks (Zrce Beach, Croatia) and Citadel (London).
Cocoon In The Park
Cocoon In The Park is heralded as one of the standout events on the Leeds’ clubbing calendar. For one day, one stage at Leeds’ Temple Newsam House will play host to Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings, which involves a small number of elite DJs playing extended sets from 10am until 11pm on the 11th of July. Since the events inauguration, the line ups have featured 4 prominent artists selected from Cocoon’s extensive guest roster, however in more recent years the sets have been shortened to give way to further guests who already play at Mint Club regularly.

The world famous Ibiza Rocks brand will be branching out to Croatia this year to throw a 5-day festival on one of the countries most notorious stretches of beach. Taking place on The Island of Pag’s now globally renowned Zrce Beach, Croatia Rocks will see a number of DJs and live artists playing at 2 of Croatia’s most famous beach clubs, Papaya and Aquarius. With main stage and pool parties hosted by some of the most cutting edge labels of today, Croatia Rocks is set to catapult the brand into capturing new territory.

Electric Daisy Carnival UK
Spawned from the minds behind one of America’s most popular dance music festivals, the Electric Daisy Carnival, EDC UK is the British counterpart that will combine jaw-dropping production with pulsating music intended to keep you dancing all day long. Expect to see carnival rides, mind-blowing firework displays, huge illuminated art installations constructed into giant neon dreamscapes and of course, a selection of the most sought after electronic artists of today.

As one of the most treasured festivals in the capital, Lovebox will take over Victoria Park on the 17th and 18th of July when a rally of musical experiences will be able to be had by all ages. Main stages as well as bandstands, theatre tents, fancy dress stalls, roller discos and a party curated by Barcelona’s iconic Elrow nightclub are just some of the attractions where you will be able to see and hear your favourite bands and DJs, with a line up curated by the dance duo Groove Armada.

New Look Wireless Festival
Wireless Festival celebrates ten years in the capital this July with their flagship 3-day festival after a fourth day was added to the bill this year to help make the tenth anniversary extra special. Wireless Festival annually invites a round up of the most popular bands, solo artists and DJs in popular music today, who will play across a number of stages in London’s Finsbury Park on July the 3rd-5th.

Clapham Common in London will play host to Calling Festival on the 4th of July, when a rally of classic rock stars will descend upon the capital to play throughout the day and evening. With a strong mix of all time legends, new school favourites and future stars you will be able to hear rock music from all ages in one of the most vibrant festival settings in the capital.

MADE Birmingham is the 12-hour dance music extravaganza taking place at The Rainbow Venues in Birmingham. With stages in a number of the rooms including The Courtyard, The Garden and The Arena, there will be an assortment of music stretching from house though to techno, dub to drum and bass, soul and loads more. Starting at midday and finishing at midnight, the combination of venue styles that The Rainbow Venues offers will mean that whatever mood you’re in, bet it in a mood for drinking in the sun or sweating it out in a dark basement, MADE will be perfect for your summer time exploits.

Held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Exit Festival is the multi award winning Serbian music festival that has been recognised for being run by a non-profit organisation, who strive on investing money into their unbeatable line ups that invite the worlds greatest live acts as well as DJs from the dance underground to one of the most captivating festival locations in Europe. With accolades for Best Major European Festival and Best European Festival awarded to Exit for their efforts, it gives you an idea of how special it really is.

Citadel Festival is the new project from the creative bunch that brought us Wilderness Festival. They have teamed up with Time Out and Communion to stage a new one-day event on the 19th of July at Victoria Park in London that will combine great music with several other cultural treats that will keep you entertained all day long. With huge headline music artists, boutique food and drinks stalls (including feasts cooked by Richard Turner), debates, poetry, sideshows and games to keep everyone happy it is looking like Citadel’s first year is going to set a standard.

North Devon’s Castle Hill Estate will host Somersault Festival on the 23rd to the 27th of July as a line up swarming with talent prepares to unleash musical excellence onto the guests. With bands and solo artists playing folk, rock, indie, acoustic and more there will be more music than you can shake a stick at, however there will also be an assortment of cultural treats ranging from comedy sketches to rock climbing, ensuring you will never experience a dull moment.

Standon Calling will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a special ‘Town With Two Faces’ edition on the 31st July to the 2nd of August. The weekend will welcome a line up full of tasty musical treats, including daytime and night time programming to ensure fun can be had at every possible moment. Not only is Standon Calling the only festival in the UK to have a heated swimming pool, there are also a boat load of activities to get involved in whilst in your fancy dress attire.
