Train will be performing at the O2 in London on the 24th March 2015, followed by the Birmingham NIA on the 25th and finally the Manchester Phones 4U Arena on Thursday the 26th of March. Tickets on sale now.
First surfacing with their debut self titled album, which was released in 1998, the band had huge success with the album’s lead single ‘Meet Virginia’ that was preceded by their second album, spawning more hits such as ‘Drops Of Jupiter’, a single that won two Grammy Awards in 2002, two of three the band have won in their lifetime. Throughout their almost two decades of music releases, Train have gained platinum certifications for 4 of their albums, some of which hit the milestone in various countries, as well as also releasing a plethora of singles, with the most popular being the 2009 and 2012 singles ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ and ‘Drive By’, which together hit platinum a massive 25 times.
Their most recent long player ‘Bulletproof Picasso’ is their seventh studio album and attests to how the band will continue making art no matter how many bullets are shot at them. It has been described by USA Today as “driving and high spirited”, with many of the tracks proving to sound more mainstream, something the album was aimed at doing. The album peaked at number 9 in the UK Album Chart and contains the singles ‘Angel In Blue Jeans’ and ‘Cadillac Cadillac’, the first of which was released as an anagram in the weeks leading up to when the album hit the shelves.
Joining Train, as support will be English rock band The Magic Numbers. They formed in 2002 and went platinum with their debut eponymous long player that was released back in 2005, hitting number 7 on the UK Chart, with its most notable singles being ‘Love Me Like You’ and ‘Forever Lost’. The group have just come off the back of a unique acoustic tour and have just released a new album in August named ‘Alias’.
