After weeks of meticulous planning, Transmission will launch at The Albert Hall this evening, kicking off a 12-week series of unparalleled dance music events at one of the most iconic music venues in the city of Manchester.
The first of the 18 world renowned dance music imprints to the take the reins at Transmission will be Ram Jam, David Rodigan’s reggae ridden dance hall project that has been bringing bass heavy music to dance floors all over the globe for over 30 years. Having developed an obsession with Jamaican music, David Rodigan is now a stalwart of everything from jungle to drum and bass through dub and reggae, having won countless awards including The World Clash Re-Set contest in New York back in 2012, the highest accolade in reggae sound system culture.
David Rodigan will tonight be joined by drum & bass innovators Shy FX and DJ Hype as well as grime superstar Toddla T, The Streets’ Mike Skinner, Randall and Wookie, not to mention the evening’s hosts, Stamina MC, Serocee, Daddy Earl and Tom Piper, plus support from the Juicy DJs, Jonny Dub and Pasquale. After tonight’s launch, a series of events will welcome some of the worlds biggest DJing imprints and music labels, some of which include Drumcode, Circus, Hospitality, Blasé Boys Club, The Jackathon, Defected and Carl Cox & Friends.
Across these events The Albert Hall will see an endless list of guests including Adam Beyer, Amine Edge & DANCE, Sasha, Yousef, Heidi, Hessle Audio, Andy C, High Contrast, S.P.Y, Logistics, Masters At Work, Duke Dumont, Hot Since 82, Ten Walls, Steve Aoki, Tiga, Richy Ahmed, Alan Fitzpatrick, Scuba, Dense & Pika and Carl Cox amongst many others.
