The Shipping Forecast in Liverpool is alive and kicking as always, and over the next month there a few very exciting events coming your way, but here are two particular numbers taking place throughout the first week in November that we highly recommend.
Saturday 1st November
Famed for his driving sets of electro clad house and techno at BuggedOut, Fabric and Trash, Erol Alkan is a name who has been on the music scene since first becoming a resident at a number of London night clubs including Going Underground and his own influential brand, the aforementioned Trash club. Looking towards studio production, Erol Alkan has released a number of well to EPs that include his club favourites ‘Lemonade’ and ‘Avalanche’ that have both been championed by the likes of Annie Mac and Tiga.
For his appearance at The Shipping Forecast, Erol will be playing all night long, a task that requires a great amount of endurance, skill and accuracy when reading crowds to make sure they stay immersed, something Erol is not stranger at doing. This will be taking place on November the 1st and 1st Release have already sold out, so its already looking like this is going to be a biggie. 2nd release tickets on sale now.
Thursday 6th November
Chibuku Presents French Express
For our second event that comes as a high recommendation, we have Chibuku Shake Shake. As one of the most famed clubbing institutions in the city, Chibuku has attracted thousands of clubbers through its doors at the many venues it has taken over for their nightlong parties, bringing in the best DJs from the four corners. On the 6th of November, Chibuku is taking over The Shipping Forecast and bringing the house come disco label French Express over from the other side of the English Channel.
With the likes of Chris Malinchak and Heko appearing on the label it has slowly become one of the hottest of todays sound, and for this showcase the imprint will be bringing over three of its champions. Label owner Jonas Rathsman will headline proceedings joined by Moon Boots and Isaac Tichauer. One for the lovers of deep and disco.
