Egg in London is revered as one of the most impressive and forward thinking dance music venues in the capital, pushing the boundaries when it comes to sound, style and overall clubbing experience. With an eclectic variety of nights pushing different sounds, a 24 hour licence and a unique sound system that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world, Egg London tops the charts of appealing venues in the city.
Consisting of a number of rooms indoor and outdoor, amounting to a capacity of over 900, Egg London is capable of holding an array of different events from small intimate gatherings in their smaller rooms, to full-blown multi room action spread over the clubs main rooms and the newly extended terrace. Each room boasts visually stunning LED and laser lighting systems, contemporary décor and relaxing bar areas as well as a DJ booth in the main room that any selector would gag to play behind. The most notable aspect of the dance floors in most of the rooms is the newly fitted sound system, introduced to the club in 2013, specifically designed and fitted especially for the club by Flipside Sound. Lacquered in an attractive deep red and black, the four-way system consists of floating mid/hi boxes, kick bass sections and sub bass speakers, which together provides an unparalleled sound that gives Egg the aural edge over other London night spots. Check out Flipside’s case study on Egg’s sound system here.
The nights that are regularly seen at Egg in London are a great mix of nights organised both by the club themselves and promoters who have called the club home for a long while. Egg Presents is the flagship night bringing the best cutting edge house and techno artists to play to the loyal crowd who visit Egg, assured that they will be impressed through every visit. The likes of Dungeon Meat, Monika Kruse, Flashmob, Matador, Yaya, Leon, Samu.l, Andre Crom, Miguel Campbell and Infinity Ink have all been employed to play at the club in the coming months, and in the past Egg Presents have seen a huge array of talent through the clubs doors such as Juan Atkins, Dennis Ferrer, Chez Damier, Butch and Diynamic boss Solomun earlier this year for their 11th Birthday.
As well as Egg’s spearhead event, other reputable shows are hosted on a regular basis including the weekly Tuesday night knees up Paradox, which for a mid week club night has gained a hefty reputation and seen a cluster of world renowned performers behind the decks including Eddie Richards, Audio Werner, Dan Andrei, Terry Francis and Soul Capsule. As well as these events that have caught the attention of the entire city, other brands such as X Presents, Circus and Familia have also made a noticeable imprint on the club, not to mention the huge New Years Eve party in 2013, curated by The One, which saw Tania Vulcano, wAFF, Pirupa and a ton of other guests playing in what proved to be a marathon new year celebration.
Looking away from Egg London’s goings on inside the venue, there is also a number of ways that the club’s fans can keep up to date and in line with everything that Egg organises. Egg Radio allows keen followers of the club to listen in to live DJ sets from the clubs residents, also featuring occasional guest appearances from DJs who have or are lined up to play at the club. Egg in London also provides a membership service that is available to purchase from the club on Fridays and Saturdays as well as being free for student applicants. This gives members the chance to jump queues, get exclusive discounts and even attend the five special free members parties that are held throughout the year. Altogether, Egg London is a one of a kind nightclub that will for the foreseeable future continue to uphold its reputation as one of the countries best nightclubs.
