2014 has so far seen a host of impressive shows week in week out at XOYO London. As well as the sold out XOYO Loves parties, there was of course the launch of the prestigious residency series, which has so far seen Eats Everything, The 2 Bears and Jackmaster host quarterly series of events, inviting a wonderful variety of guests to play to the lively Saturday night crowds. Now it is time for XOYO to celebrate 2 successful years of being one of the best places to party in the capital, and this will be done through 2 events on Friday 15th and Friday 22nd August.
The first instalment will see an exciting live performance from XOYO favourite Todd Terje. Terje has been a mainstay in the scene for some years now with his woozy disco infected house and disco, with tracks such as Inspector Norse and Ragysh still maintaining a hefty reputation in clubs around the world. The French and Italo house/disco theme is maintained throughout the rest of the line up as French Express’s spearhead Isaac Tichauer also joins the bill who’s label has been extensively touring this past year gaining them fans far and wide. Also on the line up is the fresh Dixon Avenue Basement Jams addition Marquis Hawkes and local lad Kiwi.
The week after the first birthday instalment and we are back again, this time focusing on the new school of DJ’s, which will see an array of sounds from trap through to bass and grime. Headlining the bill this time round will be Oneman, the multi-genre spinning wizard who’s skills at effortlessly blending many types of music have consequently led to him recording a CD in the Fabric mix series and landed him a residency on Rinse FM. Joining Oneman will be American favourite Cashmere Cat as well as sampling addict Ryan Hemsworth and innovative electronica artist Kutmah.
Tickets are already onto final release for the first of the two knees up, and the second is close to being in the same position. These two parties are a great opportunity to celebrate another year of great parties at XOYO London, as well as to see in the third year of what will be guaranteed to hold more of the same. Here’s to another 2 years and more XOYO.
