XOYO host Naked Naked label showcase

XOYO host Naked Naked label showcase

It seems like it’s full steam ahead at XOYO HQ as they bring us a relentless schedule for 2014; later this month inviting Ben Westbeech’s Naked Naked label to the party. Pioneering fresh UK talent, Naked Naked signees Mak & Pasteman, Lorca and head honcho, Breach come together in what is a  sterling showcase on what the relatively newly fashioned label have to offer. Special guest, Deetron (pictured above) is a welcomed addition to the lineup, with Ben Westbeech having featuring on his recent album - Music Over Matter.

Breach needs no introduction, but we feel that his productions do. Instead of spouting a heap of well-publicised facts about the Bristolian, you may be interested to know that he wrote Redlight’s Get Out My Head. Yes, Jack and Everything You Never Had commercially boomed but Ben Westbeech is no stranger to the world of pop music. Having already released two albums under the aforementioned alias and several releases on labels: Dirtybird, Atlantic Records and Ninja Tune; it’s a surprise his wider acclaim hasn’t happened sooner.

Quite possibly one of my favourite albums of the year Music Over Matter really put Deetron on the map; hard work pays dividends and no one will know this better than Sam Geiser. The Swiss has been touring the DJ circuit for quite some time now; nevertheless 2013 seemed to be his breakthrough year. Can’t Love You More, Rhythm (featuring Ben Westbeech) and Starblazer are first-rate examples of his capability showing both diversity and production technique with the utmost of finesse.

Mak & Pasteman are bass heavyweights and if their recent Brown Bread EP is anything to go by, the boys mean business. Showcasing beefy low end records that entice our willingness to be playful, their tracks are fine examples of the style of music Breach signs to his Naked Naked label – "house music with soul and a healthy dose of bass".

Lorca’s no one trick pony as his Love Like This Refix last year may have suggested. He divulges into a broad spectrum of genres with great flair and assurance. From dubstep to breaks to garage to house - Lorca has released music on 2020 Vision, Dummy and of course Naked Naked with a forthcoming Detroit influenced EP Forgive Me Love/ Naoko.
