XOYO is preparing to celebrate its 3rd birthday this August.
After pioneering its new quarterly residency series alongside several weekday events that have put XOYO on the map amongst the majority of clubbers in the capital, the venue on Cowper Street will be throwing 5 parties from Wednesday 19th through to Sunday 23rd August, with a whole host of hugely varied guests appearing throughout the week.
The celebrations will begin on Wednesday with What So Not and Karma Kid, who have been staple artists at XOYO this year. Shorebitch will also be appearing. Thursday will see the effervescent indie dance group Hercules & Love Affair headlining the bill, with disco don Mylo and Gloria’s resident Joshua James also taking the reins.
Friday is where things get even more exciting as XOYO will welcome back Skream, who hosted one of the clubs 12 week residency series alongside the likes of Jackmaster, Simian Mobile Disco and Eats Everything. Skream will be joined by British techno heavyweight Surgeon and Jasper James, whilst Artwork rocks the second room all night long in another feat that has appeared amongst the residency series a number of times.
The penultimate party on the Saturday will welcome XOYO’s current residents Bicep, who will be recruiting the talents of Andrew Weatherall, one of Britain’s best DJs, and Mr Ties. In room 2 Nd_Baumecker will be taking things on a techy tip, whilst Swoose & Cromby also give a helping hand. The final 3rd birthday event will be on the Sunday and will set the stage for DJ mustard and Livin’ Proof.
XOYO has become one of the most innovative and exciting clubs in the capital with its genre defying residency series, midweek parties Tape and Sneak and its all night long performances that have appeared at many of these events. These birthday shenanigans contain a perfect balance of everything that has made XOYO so special this year; making this 5 day anniversary one you should most definitely put on the calendar.
